O.J. Simpson, the former football star and actor whose life took a shocking turn when he was accused of murdering his ex-wife and a friend, died on April 10 at the age of 76. His family confirmed his death in a statement, saying that Simpson had been surrounded by loved ones.

Simpson, who played running back for several NFL teams, was a key member of the Buffalo Bills' "Electric Company" backfield during the 1970s. He later starred in the Naked Gun comedy film series and other movies and television shows. However, his career and reputation were forever altered by his arrest and subsequent trial for the murders of Nicole Brown Simpson and Ronald Goldman in 1994.

Simpson was acquitted of the murder charges in 1995, but he was later found liable for the victims' deaths in a civil lawsuit. He spent several years in prison for armed robbery and was released in 2017.

In addition to his professional accomplishments, Simpson was also a father of five children. He was survived by his children Arnelle, Jason, Sydney, Justin, and Aaren.
