Reigning European champions Real Madrid reached their third successive Champions League final after beating 10-man Bayern Munich 2-1 at the Bernabeu on Tuesday.
Needing to overturn a 2-1 deficit from the first leg in Munich, Bayern were level on aggregate thanks to Joshua Kimmich's fine early strike.
But Real substitute Marco Asensio grabbed a crucial away goal just after the hour before Karim Benzema sealed victory late on to end Bayern's hopes of a treble with a stunning long-range strike.
Bayern were brilliant but ultimately undone by Sven Ulreich's awful mistake. The goalkeeper, who is standing in for the injured Manuel Neuer, allowed Karim Benzema's long-range effort to squirm through his grasp and into the net.
And so resolute Real Madrid made it to yet another Champions League final. They will face either Liverpool or Roma in Kiev on May 26.
