Khyree Jackson, a cornerback for the Minnesota Vikings, died in a car crash on Saturday, July 6. He was 22 years old.
Jackson was a standout player at the University of Maryland, where he was a two-time All-Big Ten selection. He was drafted by the Vikings in the fourth round of the 2024 NFL draft.
Jackson was considered a rising star in the NFL. He had a strong performance at the NFL Scouting Combine, where he ran a 4.4-second 40-yard dash and had a vertical jump of 38 inches.
"Khyree was a bright young man with a promising future," Vikings general manager Kwesi Adofo-Mensah said in a statement. "He was a talented player and a great teammate. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends during this difficult time."
