David Lynch Pays Tribute to Frequent Cast Member Harry Dean Stanton
"He Was a Great Actor and a Great Friend"
In the film, Stanton shares the screen with his longtime collaborator and friend David Lynch. He played the role of Carl Rodd in Lynch's films Eraserhead, Blue Velvet, and The Straight Story.
In a statement, Lynch said: "Harry was a great actor and a great friend. He was always true to himself, and he always gave his all to his work. He will be deeply missed." Stanton died at the age of 91 on September 15, 2017.
Stanton's career spanned more than 60 years, and he appeared in more than 200 films and television shows. He was known for his distinctive character roles, often playing eccentric or offbeat characters.
In addition to his work with Lynch, Stanton also collaborated with directors such as Francis Ford Coppola, Martin Scorsese, and Wim Wenders. He was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for his role in The Straight Story.
Stanton's death is a great loss to the film community. He was a true original, and his work will continue to inspire and entertain audiences for years to come.
